Exposition “Odyssées intimes de REZA, 30 ans d’amitié entre l’Azerbaïdjan et la France » - CENTRE HEYDAR ALIYEV – du 29 juin au 27 juillet, 2022
L’Ambassade de France, l’institut français en Azerbaïdjan et la Fondation Heydar Aliyev proposent du 29 juin au 27 juillet une exposition du photographe REZA pour célébrer l’anniversaire des 30 ans de l’établissement des relations diplomatiques entre l’Azerbaïdjan et la France.
A travers cette exposition intitulée « Odyssées intimes de REZA, 30 ans d’amitié entre l’Azerbaïdjan et la France », l’artiste propose un regard poétique, contemplatif et intime sur la beauté des paysages et des peuples d’Azerbaïdjan et de France à travers quelques-uns des clichés réalisés lors de ses pérégrinations au hasard des chemins de ces deux contrées.
L’exposition est présentée au Centre Heydar Aliyev du 29 juin au 27 juillet et est accessible aux heures d’ouverture (du mardi au dimanche de 11h à 19h, fermeture de la billetterie à 18h).

REZA est un artiste-photographe philanthrope, idéaliste, humaniste, qui depuis 1979 s’engage en faveur de « la photographie au service de l’Humanité ». Depuis, il parcourt le monde, photographiant conflits, révolutions et catastrophes humaines, mais aussi joies et peines de notre humanité. Publiés par les médias internationaux (National Geographic, Time Magazine, Stern, Newsweek, El País, Paris Match, Géo…), Reza expose et créé des installations artistiques majeures à travers le monde, il donne des conférences dans des universités reconnues à l’international et dans les organisations internationales, et participe à des documentaires.
Parallèlement à son travail de photographe, Reza est depuis 1983 un bénévole engagé dans la formation au langage de l'image des jeunes et des femmes dans des sociétés en conflit et les banlieues des mégapoles dans tous les continents. Les bénéficiaires deviennent ainsi les conteurs visuels de leur propre destin. Ses actions sont portées par ses associations « Aina world » et « Reza Visual Academy ».
Auteur de trente-cinq livres, primé de nombreuses fois au fil de sa carrière, Reza est Senior Fellow de la Fondation Ashoka. Il reçoit le World Press Photo, l’Infinity Award décerné par l’International Center of Photography, le Lucy Award, la médaille d’honneur de l’Université du Missouri ainsi que le titre de Docteur-honoris-causa de l'Université américaine de Paris. La France lui a remis la médaille de Chevalier de l’Ordre national du Mérite.

The Embassy of France, the Institut Français in Azerbaijan and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation organize, from June 29th to July 27th, an exhibition of the photographer REZA on the occasion of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment, in 1992, of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and France.
Through this exhibition titled “Intimate Odysseys of REZA, 30 years of friendship between Azerbaijan and France”, the artist proposes a poetic and intimate insight into the beauties of the landscapes and the peoples of Azerbaijan and France through photographs he took during his journeys on the roads of these two countries.
The exhibition is featured at the Heydar Aliyev Centre from June 29th to July 27th during opening hours (from Tuesday to Sunday, from 11 am to 7 pm, ticket office is open until 6 pm)

Reza is an artist photographer philanthropist, idealist, humanist who, since 1979, is committed to photography for “the service of Mankind”. Since then, he has crossed the world taking photographs not only of conflicts, revolutions and human catastrophes, but also of peoples’ joy and pain. Published by the international media, such as the National Geographic, Time Magazine, Stern, Newsweek, El País, Paris Match, Géo…), Reza has major exhibitions across the world. He takes part in conferences in the World’s principal universities and international organizations, as well as making documentaries.
Reza has, since 1983, as well as his photography, voluntarily participated in the formation to the language of pictures of youth and women in the societies of conflict and in suburban areas of megalopolises on all continents. This is how the beneficiaries become visual tellers of their own destiny. ‘Aina World’ and the ‘Reza Visual Academy’ produce his work.
He has written thirty-five books, and received many awards throughout his career. Reza is a Senior Fellow of the Ashoka Foundation. He is the recipient of many awards: these include the World Press Photos, the Infinity Award given by the International Center of Photography, the Lucy Award and the Medal of Honor of the University of Missouri. He is also Doctor-honoris-causa of the American University of Paris, as well as a Knight of the French Order of Merit.
